HSBC visited campuses for diversity hiring around November 2022. Each round was an elimination round.

Round 1: Aptitude + Technical and Coding
This round consisted of an aptitude section (basic verbal, quantitative, statistical, and reasoning questions) and a technical segment (fundamental questions on core computer science subjects). The coding assessment, activated for students who cleared the aptitude and technical parts, included two easy-to-medium level coding questions.

Round 2: Value-Based Assessment Round
This round involved behavioral questions related to managerial and decision-making skills. These questions aimed to explore past experiences and actions, particularly how the candidate tackled challenging situations, providing insights into problem-solving prowess and leadership aptitude.

Round 3: Technical Interview
Conducted as a North India Pool Drive, candidates from various colleges were called to a private college. The interviewer was friendly. After a self-introduction, the interviewer thoroughly scanned the resume. The candidate highlighted only the confident points on their resume. Questions included coding a solution for "Alternate Primes Till N" on paper and optimizing it, discussing internship experience and challenges encountered, and solving the "Weight of the Heavy Ball" puzzle.

Round 4: HR Interview
The HR interviewer adopted a straightforward and direct approach. Questions included a self-introduction, preferred work location (Pune or Hyderabad), inquiries about any current job offers, family background (with an extended conversation about the father's profession), and discussion about technologies the candidate wanted to work with and reasons for desiring to join HSBC.
