Chaitya Vora, a third-year Computer Engineering student from VJTI, Mumbai, shared his experience of being selected as a Summer SDE Intern for 2023 at HTSI-Hilti Technology Solutions India, Pune.

Round 1: Online Test
The hiring process started with a proctored Mettl online test, 90 minutes in duration. It comprised 7 sections: one timed Cognitive Ability section (30 minutes) and six other sections in the remaining hour. Switching between questions was allowed. The test covered Data Structures, Algorithms, and Core CS Fundamentals (DBMS, OS, Computer Networks, OOPs). A specific coding question was: "Given a list of numbers indicating the window number and a number indicating the window number to be accessed, modify and return the list after applying the MRU strategy."

Round 2: Technical Interviews
The candidate mentions a "Technical Interview" where questions were asked about projects. Specific technical questions included OOPs concepts like constructors and destructors, and a comparison of C++ destructors with Java finalizers. Database knowledge was also assessed, and the candidate mentioned how they could implement it in their project. The interviewer seemed satisfied with the answers.

Round 3: HR Interview
A prominent question in the HR round was "Why do you want to join HILTI?". The candidate answered this by relating it to their project experience, explaining how taking client feedback and implementing new features demonstrated alignment with Hilti's product-based company ethos. They also emphasized the importance of asking questions at the end of the interview to show genuine interest.
