Experience:

This interview experience for a Market Analyst role at Futures First involved three rounds. The candidate, a BTech Computer Science student, applied for the role in Gurgaon, Haryana.

Round 1: Aptitude Test (40 minutes)
This round was a combination of various sections, with a majority of questions from Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, and Mathematics.

  • Data Interpretation: Questions were based on graphs and charts.
  • Logical Reasoning: Included visual reasoning, blood relationships, coding-decoding, and series.
  • Mathematics: Covered topics like HCF and LCM.
There was negative marking in one section, requiring both time management and accuracy. The overall difficulty was moderate.

Round 2: Group Test (Fasters Finger First Kind)
Candidates who cleared the first round proceeded to this in-person group test, where they were divided into groups of 5-6. This round featured approximately 20 math-based questions. Correct answers were rewarded with points, and incorrect responses had negative marking. This round assessed not only aptitude but also teamwork, decision-making skills, problem-solving, and quick thinking.

Round 3: Technical + HR
This final round combined both technical and HR questions. The interviewer aimed to understand the candidate's willingness for the role and ability to contribute to the company. As a Computer Science student, the candidate was questioned on how their skills would be beneficial in a finance-related role and why they chose to apply for this position. Questions about prior trading experience were also asked; the candidate honestly stated no prior experience, which was appreciated.
