Experience:

This experience details the interview process for a remote Business Analyst position at EXL.

  • First Contact/HR Call
The initial contact was an HR call via phone. The HR representative asked about current CTC, expected CTC, tech stack, and notice period. A tip given was not to mention a notice period of 60 days, instead suggesting 30 days if one wishes to move forward.
  • 1st Round (Technical)
This round involved coding questions in Python. An example question given was "Given a list of numbers, find the sum of all even numbers." It was noted that any method (e.g., for loop, pandas, numpy) was acceptable.
  • 2nd Round (Managerial)
The hiring manager conducted this round, discussing the candidate's experiences, the team's day-to-day activities, and responsibilities. This round also tested SQL (basic to intermediate questions) and Python skills.
  • 3rd Round (Additional Technical/Managerial)
This round was conducted specifically because the candidate requested a higher salary than initially offered. It was described as very similar to the second round in terms of difficulty and types of questions asked. Normally, EXL only conducts two technical/managerial rounds.
  • Final HR Round
After clearing the technical/managerial rounds, the final step was a call with HR for formalities, including discussing the expected salary and required documents.

Tips: Be prepared to negotiate salary, and be mindful of the notice period mentioned during the initial HR call.
