Experience:

The candidate, a 2024 graduate with 6 months of internship experience, received an invitation for an online assessment for a Software Engineering role at Ethos. The HackerRank test consisted of 14 questions.

• SQL Query: One medium to hard-level SQL query was presented.
• Coding Problems: Two coding questions were included. The first was an easy to medium problem involving a sliding window technique. The second coding problem was described as quite hard.
• Multiple-Choice Questions: The remaining questions were multiple-choice, covering Computer Fundamentals. Topics included deadlock and backend-related questions, such as predicting the response or error for a given API.

The candidate noted that approximately 105 people were taking the test for this role. The result was a rejection email received a few days after the assessment.
