Experience:

This interview experience was for the role of Technology - Engineer Trainee, part of an on-campus recruitment drive in August 2025. The process consisted of three rounds: an Online Assessment, a Technical Interview, and a Managerial Round.

Round 1: Online Assessment (Codility Platform)

This round had three coding questions. One was an easy problem, and the other two were of medium difficulty. The candidate solved all three problems. Specific coding questions mentioned were the "Climbing Stairs Problem" and "Maximum Subarray Sum Problem."

Round 2: Technical Interview (In-person)

The interview began with introductions. Questions covered a broad range of technical topics:

• Coding Questions: The interviewer asked to solve a question from the online assessment round, specifically the "Climbing Stairs Problem" and "Maximum Subarray Sum Problem."
• DSA: Write the Merge Sort algorithm and trace it with a sample array. Discussion on the mid-point formula used in Merge Sort and potential problems/solutions.
• Java/OOPs: Questions included "Do you know JAVA?", "Is JAVA completely object-oriented?", "What do you mean by object-oriented?", "Why is it useful?", "Explain the four pillars of OOPs with respect to classes," "What are the different access specifiers? When will you use them?"
• Operating Systems: Topics like "What is a process?", "What is a thread?", "What is multi-threading?", "Do multiple threads of the same process have different spaces in memory?", "What is critical section?", "What is context switching?", "What is parallelism? What is the requirement to achieve parallelism (discussion about multiple cores)?"
• Web Technology: "How does frontend communicate with backend/server in MERN?", "What are the different formats in which frontend can receive data from backend?"
• Generative AI: "What is OCR?" (based on a project in the resume).
• DBMS: "What databases are you familiar with?", "What is the difference between SQL and NoSQL?", "Explain ACID and CAP theorem," "How can consistency & availability be achieved together? Explain with example," "If two users want to buy a book available only one in numbers..."

Round 3: Managerial Round (In-person)

This round involved basic HR-type questions about the candidate's background, known languages, college life, and questions based on their resume.

The candidate was not selected for the offer but expressed satisfaction with the learning experience.
