Experience:

This interview experience for an SDE role took place in August 2022 through college placement and consisted of 4 virtual rounds. Eligibility required 60% and above in SSC, HSC, Diploma, and 6.75 CGPA and above in Engineering.

Round 1: Aptitude

This round comprised 14 aptitude questions and 2 coding questions. The aptitude section included Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude. Coding questions were based on Number system, LCM/HCF, sorting, and Pattern Printing, and were of easy level. The candidate submitted both coding questions within 14 minutes out of an hour allotted. Only candidates who solved both coding questions were carried forward.

Round 2: Technical Interview 1

This round lasted around 1 hour and was conducted on MSTeams. After a formal introduction, the interviewer asked about the candidate's project. Questions covered basic computer network concepts, data structure concepts, DBMS concepts, and basic SQL queries. Specific data structure questions included linked list questions and implementation of Queue and Tree on an IDE. Puzzles from GeeksforGeeks were also asked.

Round 3: Technical Interview 2

This round also lasted for 1 hour and focused more on problem-solving abilities. Questions included designing a system for IPL using OOP, intuition behind K-means algorithm (as AI/ML was on the resume), finding the middle of a linked list, finding the 3rd largest element in a linked list, finding the Nth largest element in an array, and easy puzzles.

Round 4: HR Interview

This round lasted for 45 minutes and involved typical HR questions. One hour before the interview, the candidate received an email with a calendar printing question, which needed to be coded but not run. The question involved considering a function returning odd days of the month and printing the calendar based on that.

Tip: Strong knowledge of 4 core subjects (OS, CN, DBMS, and DS) was highlighted as essential.
