Experience:

QuickSell visited the campus for various engineering positions, and the candidate interviewed for the Backend Engineer role. The process spanned two days and comprised three rounds.

Round 1 (90 minutes): This round consisted of 12 questions. The first section had 6 JavaScript questions, ranging from easy to medium difficulty in data structures and algorithms. The second section contained 6 SQL questions, which were of medium to hard complexity. Only candidates who solved all questions advanced.

Round 2 (60 minutes): This was a technical interview with a current backend engineer. It started with an introduction, followed by technical questions on APIs and database management. A live coding segment required solving 3 JavaScript problems and 3 SQL queries on VSCode with screen sharing. The JavaScript questions required optimization, and the interviewer provided support. All questions were successfully solved.

Round 3 (60 minutes): This round was a mix of managerial and technical questions conducted by the company's Vice President. It began with an introduction and discussion about the candidate's interest in working at a startup. The technical part involved an advanced SQL coding challenge related to APIs, focusing on various API types and using Postman. The SQL query was complex, involving joins and pagination, requiring advanced knowledge. The VP offered hints and guidance despite a few mistakes. The interview concluded with a discussion about QuickSell's culture, office environment, and products. The overall experience was positive, and the candidate was the only one selected from their college for any role.
