Experience:

The recruitment process started with interested students filling out a form, after which approximately 600 students from three colleges were shortlisted. All shortlisted students were assigned different projects based on their chosen fields: Frontend, Backend, or Full Stack Developer. The candidate opted for Full Stack Developer and completed a Flight Ticket Booking System project within 36 hours.

After reviewing the submitted projects (which took 10-15 days), DevRev scheduled interviews for 5-7 students per day over three days, shortlisting about 20 students in total. The candidate received an interview mail 4-5 hours prior to the scheduled time, allowing for a quick brush-up on core subjects (OS, CN, DBMS, OOPS), technical concepts (HTML, CSS, JS, Node.JS, Express.JS, MongoDB), project details, and some DSA concepts.

The interview began with an introduction. The interviewer then asked the candidate to showcase the hosted project along with its source code, followed by questions about the project and specific parts of the code.

Next, the interviewer inquired about the candidate's preferred coding language (Java in this case) and asked 2-3 questions about Java and OOPS, including:

  • Is Java pure Object Oriented?
  • Difference between Abstract class and Interfaces.
  • Difference between Final, Finally, and Finalize.

Finally, a Data Structures and Algorithms question of Medium difficulty was given on LeetCode. Due to time constraints (only 10 minutes), the interviewer was satisfied with the candidate's explanation of the intuition and did not require the full code implementation.
