Experience:

This candidate was a final year BTech CSE student from a Tier 2 college who secured an offer for a Software Engineer 1 role (Internship + Full time) with a CTC of 11 LPA in Bangalore. The preparation period was from July 7, 2021, to August 15, 2021.

Preparation:

• Completed all questions from "must-do-coding-questions-for-companies-like-amazon-microsoft-adobe" on GeeksforGeeks.
• Solved 200 LeetCode questions, focusing more on Medium/Hard from the "top-interview-questions" set.
• Detailed study of Computer Networks, DBMS, and Operating Systems from GeeksforGeeks, InterviewBit, and personal notes.
• Completed 50 SQL questions from HackerRank (Easy/Medium).
• Reviewed company-specific questions from GeeksforGeeks one day before the online test.

Round 1 (Online Test - 1 hour): This round consisted of 60 questions to be solved in 60 minutes. Questions covered DBMS, OS, Computer Networks, Quantitative Aptitude, debugging, and code output prediction. The difficulty was Easy/Medium. Out of 407 students, 95 advanced. The candidate solved all 60 questions, with about 50 confidently correct.

Round 2 (Technical Interview - 40 minutes): Due to a miscommunication, the interview was rescheduled to the afternoon. The candidate emphasized being open, asking for time if needed, and engaging in a discussion with the interviewer. For unexpected questions, the candidate tried to leverage existing knowledge of DBMS, OS, and Data Structures.

Round 3 (HR Interview - 20 minutes): This round immediately followed the technical interview for the candidate due to the rescheduling.

Round 4 (HR - 5 minutes): The interviewer confirmed relocation to Bangalore and inquired about the overall selection process experience. Later, all 17 shortlisted students were informed of their selection on a Zoom call.
