Experience:

This interview experience for an SDE role in Dell R&D involved three main rounds.

Round 1: Online Assessment (125 minutes): Conducted via HirePro, this round was divided into three sections with inter-sectional switching permitted.

• Section 1: Aptitude (15 questions, 20 minutes): Medium difficulty, numerically based questions with time constraints being a major factor.
• Section 2: Technical (40 questions, 55 minutes): MCQ-based questions on OS, DBMS, computer networks, and C programming. This section focused on conceptual questions and C output-based questions, with an easy to medium difficulty.
• Section 3: Coding (3 questions, 50 minutes): Three easy coding questions were given, but only two were required. Specific questions mentioned were a modification of "Find the sum of the product of the middle row and column in an odd square matrix" and a modified version of "Lucky Numbers in a Matrix" (LeetCode problem).

Round 2: Technical Interview (2 interviewers): Started with an introduction. Questions were asked about technologies relevant to the job requirement, including AWS and general cloud concepts. UNIX script commands like "How to remove all files?", "How to change directory contents?", and "How to create a new directory?" were asked. Since C++ was the primary programming language, simple questions about C++ like access modifiers, classes, OOP concepts, and the difference between C and C++ were asked.
