Experience:

Dassault Systèmes conducted an on-campus recruitment in September 2024. The process involved two major rounds.

Round 1: General Aptitude + Coding
About 250 students participated in this round. The total duration was 1 hour 30 minutes. The questions were timer-based with negative marking. The aptitude section had about 54 questions, ranging from basic to medium difficulty, covering topics like word problems, age, ratio & proportion, profit and loss, number & letter series, blood relations, pipes and cisterns, directions, logical puzzles, time and work, data sufficiency & syllogism, and English grammar. The coding section had 4 questions: 2 easy, 1 medium, and 1 difficult. 40 students were selected for Round 2.

Round 2: Technical Interview
This round lasted approximately 45 minutes and was heavily focused on the candidate's resume.

• Introduced myself briefly, highlighting skills and fit for the role.
• Asked 1-2 basic questions about the resume (specifics not remembered).
• Coding: "Implement polymorphism by writing a code on paper." The candidate explained runtime polymorphism using the 'virtual' keyword.
• Puzzle: The classic "3 switches and 3 bulbs in a room" problem, where you can enter the room only once to determine which switch controls which bulb.
• Project Discussion: Explained a "Weather project" from the resume, including technologies used, how real-time weather data was fetched using an API, and the data format.
• Database Questions: "What are CRUD operations in MySQL?" and "What is 1NF, 2NF, 3NF in MySQL?"
• DevOps Question: "Explain CI/CD pipelines."
• Situational Question: "Imagine you are working as an SE for a company. The company gathers its code from various sources. You are getting an error in your code. How will you find the error and resolve it?"
• Behavioral Question: "I would like to work in a company that uses emerging technologies to solve real-world problems (like Dassault Systèmes!!). This will help me to learn and apply my skills continuously, fostering my growth as well."

The result was announced the same evening, and the candidate received an offer for a Full-time Internship + PPO at Dassault Systèmes, starting January 2025.
