Detailed experience

Role: R&D Associate Engineer

College: Not Specified (On-Campus)

Interview Date: August 2023

Interview Type: On-Campus

Result: Selected (with 6-month internship and 7.5 LPA CTC)

Difficulty: Medium

Rounds: 3 rounds (Offline MCQ Test, Technical Interview, Managerial Interview)

Topics Asked: Quantitative Aptitude, Geometry, Algebra, Logical Reasoning, C++ Concepts (pointers vs references, memory allocation for data structures, vectors), Operating Systems (paging, page tables, OS functioning), Object-Oriented Programming (four pillars with real-life examples), Coding Logic (method overriding/overloading syntax), Puzzle Solving, Mathematics (basic geometry, distance between two points, scalar/vector quantities, velocity).

Experience:

Dassault Systemes visited the campus in August 2023.

Round 1 (Offline MCQ Test): This round had 60 questions focusing on quantitative aptitude, geometry, algebra, and logical reasoning. It was divided into two sections: 40 questions in 20 minutes and 20 questions in 30 minutes, with negative marking. The candidate solved 48 questions confidently.

Round 2 (Technical In-Person Interview): Questions were asked on C++ concepts (differences between pointers and references, memory allocation for data structures, functioning of vectors), Operating Systems (paging, page tables, OS overall functioning), Object-Oriented Programming (four pillars with real-life examples). Coding logic involved explaining method overriding and method overloading syntax. Puzzle-solving was a significant part, with a recommendation to practice GFG's top puzzles. Basic mathematics questions, including geometry, distance between two points, scalar/vector quantities, and velocity-related queries, were also part of this round.

Round 3 (HR Interview): This round was held on the same day. Questions included aspirations, preferences for a dream company, and a hypothetical scenario about choosing between a good package and an aligned job role. This round was optional for some candidates, sometimes clubbed with Round 2.

The candidate was selected and received an offer for an R&D Associate Engineer role with a 7.5 LPA CTC and a 6-month internship.
