Experience:

The interview process for the Associate Software Engineer role at Conga consisted of four rounds.

Round 1: Logical Reasoning Test
This was an online assessment conducted on HackerEarth. It comprised 20 questions to be solved in 45 minutes. The questions covered Logical Reasoning, Verbal Ability, some series-based questions, and general aptitude.

Round 2: Technical Assessment
This was another online assessment on HackerEarth, also with 20 questions and a 45-minute time limit. Questions were primarily focused on C++, Java, and Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA). Approximately 50% of the questions were output-based, testing knowledge in recursion, exception handling, and data structures like stack and queue.

Round 3: Technical Interview
The interviewer started by asking for an introduction. Following this, DSA questions were posed, specifically about stacks. The candidate was asked to implement a stack using an array, including push and pop functions, in an online editor. Subsequently, questions on Linked Lists were asked, and the candidate was tasked with implementing functions like `Insert_at_the_end` and `delete`. A specific coding question involved writing a function to delete the nth element from a linked list. The interview then moved to OOPs concepts, including polymorphism (with implementation), abstract classes, and interfaces (their use and differences). Lastly, DBMS questions covered relationships and joins. The candidate's projects were discussed, along with questions on MERN Stack, the difference between MongoDB (NoSQL) and SQL, promises, async-await, REST API, and how to fetch data from an API. This round lasted about 30-45 minutes.

Round 4: Managerial Round
This round was with senior management and began with a self-introduction. Questions on 2D Arrays were asked. The discussion then shifted to the candidate's projects, particularly those in MERN Stack, leading to questions about it. Behavioral questions included scenarios like performing a task in an unfamiliar technology within 30 days and inquiries about hobbies. The interviewer was described as friendly, and the round lasted approximately 35 minutes. A general HR-like conversation also took place, covering family background, future plans, knowledge about the company, and willingness to relocate.
