This interview experience took place during college placement season.

Round 1: Online Coding Challenge

This round consisted of three questions, focused on dynamic programming (DP) and graph algorithms. The candidate was able to solve all of them.

Round 2: Machine Coding Round (5 hours)

This was an intense five-hour machine coding round where the candidate had to create a project in C++ within a virtual machine environment provided by Commvault. The challenge was substantial, but the candidate managed to complete the task.

Round 3: Technical Interview

This round was described as having an approachable interviewer and a comfortable atmosphere. It focused on data structures and algorithms (DSA), system design, and the candidate's resume. The discussion highlighted that system design is not just about hashing or one-size-fits-all solutions, emphasizing the importance of staying up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and current best practices. Although the candidate completed the rounds, they did not receive an offer from Commvault. The experience reinforced the importance of perseverance, adaptability in high-stress situations, and continuously broadening technical knowledge.
