This interview experience took place during college placement season.

Round 1: Online Coding Challenge

This round consisted of three questions, focused on dynamic programming (DP) and graph algorithms. The candidate was able to solve all of them.

Round 2: Machine Coding Round (5 hours)

This was an intense five-hour machine coding round where the candidate had to create a project in C++ within a virtual machine environment provided by Commvault. The challenge was substantial, but the candidate managed to complete the task.

Round 3: Technical Interview

This round was described as having an approachable interviewer and a comfortable atmosphere. It focused on data structures and algorithms (DSA), system design, and the candidate's resume. The discussion highlighted that system design is not just about hashing or one-size-fits-all solutions, emphasizing the importance of staying up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and current best practices. Although the candidate completed the rounds, they did not receive an offer from Commvault.
