Experience:

This Cognizant GenC Next interview experience took place on October 3, 2025, and resulted in an interim offer. The overall experience was good, though the technical round felt a bit tiring. The interviewer was polite and guided well.

Round 1: Aptitude + Communication Assessment (Difficulty: Easy)

• Aptitude section: Covered basic quantitative and logical questions.
• Communication section: Focused on grammar, sentence correction, and listening comprehension. The advice was to stay calm and focused.

Round 2: Technical Assessment (Difficulty: Moderate)

• SQL (2 Questions): Easy, both related to Date functions.
• Java (2 Coding Questions):
  • Find Max Consecutive Ones.
  • Find Sum of Same Consecutive Numbers that occur k times.
• HTML / CSS / JS (3 Small Questions): Basic level, mostly syntax or output-based.

Round 3: Technical Interview (30 minutes, Online via Superset)

The interviewer was very polite, creating a comfortable environment.

• Introduction: Started with a self-introduction.
• Coding Question: Find the length of the longest word in a string and print all the words with the same length. A follow-up asked to handle spaces and full stops in the string.
• Theory Questions (Java):
  • OOPs Pillars (explain all).
  • Polymorphism (in detail).
  • final, finally, finalize.
  • Abstract Classes & Interfaces.
  • Try-Catch & Exception Handling.
  • Time complexity of sorting algorithms.
• SQL:
  • Normalization.
  • All types of Joins.
  • Difference between Left and Left Outer Join.
  • Query to find 2nd Highest Salary.
• HR Segment: Basic Yes/No questions on job location, shift flexibility, and tech stacks.

Tips: Be confident and communicate clearly. Revise OOPs, SQL joins, and basic coding questions, especially string and array manipulation in Java. Ensure stable internet and be ready as interview calls are random.
