Experience:

This on-campus interview experience for Cognizant took place in January 2023. The process included an Online Test, a Technical Interview, and an HR Interview.

Round 1: Online Test

The online test was of intermediate difficulty, with quantitative problems being good and the verbal section requiring attention, especially synonyms and antonyms. Approximately 650 students cleared this round.

Round 2: Technical Interview (20-30 minutes)

The interviewer was friendly. Questions asked included:

  • Introduce yourself.
  • Name and explain any new technology studied recently (e.g., blockchain explanation).
  • Differentiate between traditional and newer storage techniques.
  • Real-world examples of all OOPS concepts.
  • Difference between array and linked list.
  • Cross-questioning on the technology previously discussed.
  • Explain the concepts of deep learning.
  • Explain the key concepts of Hadoop (Big Data Storage).
  • In which programming language are you comfortable?
  • 2-3 basic C++ questions.
  • Coding Question 1: Write a code to check if a number is prime or not with the least complexity.
  • Coding Question 2: Write a code for a given star pattern.
  • Questions regarding projects, with around 8-10 questions on recent projects.

About 350 students were shortlisted for the HR interview.

Round 3: HR Interview (5-10 minutes)

This was a quick round focused on assessing confidence and verbal communication. Questions included:

  • Introduce yourself.
  • Why Cognizant?
  • Asked about hometown.
  • Tell me something about your campus life.
  • Tell me something about your hostel life.
  • Any problem with relocation?

The candidate was finally shortlisted.
