Round 1: Technical Round (35-40 mins)** The interview started with a brief introduction. During my introduction, I highlighted that I look forward to expanding my knowledge in the domain of machine learning, this invited a bunch of questions on ML like; tell me about some ML algorithms you've worked on, difference between logistic and linear regression, tell me about one unsupervised algorithm. Then we proceeded to a DSA problem that gradually advanced with follow-ups as: Given a binary tree, find the maximum subset sum of nodes of the tree. New constraint to previous problem: No 2 selected nodes shall be adjacent. Any function used should only return one integer value only. Code optimizations (Recursive -> Memoization -> Tabulation) Later he asked me about the time and space complexities of all the approaches provided. Then the interviewer asked me to explain my favourite project out of the ones listed on the resume. The interviewer expected a deep dive into the high-level design of the pipeline. Round 2: Technical + HR Round (35-40 mins)** The interviewer asked me to explain one of the projects while simulating the entire process. Later they proceeded with other projects as well but not in as much depth compared to the first one. They mainly focused on justifying the design choices, data structures used, significance of the output/outcome of the projects. He seemed really interested by the choice of data structures utilized within my projects such as Bloom Filters, ZSets etc. Then he asked me about what I did aside from studying. The round ended with positive feedback from the interviewer followed by some questions that I asked about the work culture at Salesforce.
