The interview began with a brief self-introduction. The interviewer suggested placing my BTP (Bachelor Technology Project) at the top of the projects section on my resume. Technical Questions: Design a NAND gate using a 2:1 MUX. Questions on D flip-flops and T flip-flops (don't recall the exact problem statement). What is VLSI? followed by a counter-question: What are the disadvantages or challenges of integrating too many transistors on a single small IC? What is DFT (Design for Testability) in VLSI? CMOS basics: What is CMOS, and why do we prefer using it? Puzzles / Aptitude: Burning Ropes Puzzle: You are given two non-homogeneous ropes, each taking exactly 60 minutes to burn completely. How can you measure exactly 45 minutes? Three Mislabelled Boxes Puzzle: There are three boxes labeled "Apples", "Oranges", and "Apple-Orange Mix". Every label is incorrect. In how many picks (or with minimal picks) can you correctly identify the contents of all three boxes? Heavier Apple Puzzle: Out of 8 apples, one is slightly heavier than the others. Using a balance scale, how can you find the heavier apple within the allowed number of weighings?
