So the company's notification came which listed the nature of the opportunity as 4x Months internship with 40k stipend and 6Lakh CTC post internship for three roles GenAI Engineer Full stack Developer Data Engineer First round was Group Discussion,although it was not conducted as how a gd is supposed to be , but somehow went through it. Initially there were 180 applicants which upon application of 80% criteria in 10th and 12th were reduced to 115. GD was conducted in 10 panels of groups of 10-12 each with multiple panels Out of which 51 were selected for next round (I was 48th as my panel was second last ) Then it was almost 5 PM after GD . We all thought Next rounds would be conducted later on but the Technical interview started at 5:30 . Now here comes important part the interviews were going on sequentially until the 51st person went in and came after almost 1.5 hour(his hr round was also finished) Since those who were having good Technical rounds were given HR round as well. Fast forward to 9 PM almost 13 hours after I had anything I got to know that only 23 interviews were conducted on that day and the rest were asked to visit the Office in the next week. It was all going smoothly for 5-6 days when we got a message that our interviews are scheduled after 2 days .No problem till now. Then 1 hour later Offer letters of 10 candidates(out of 23 who i interviewed ) were released . It was hell tbh. Imagine how would you feel the post for which you are interviewing for are already been filling just because of Luck factor . We were then later assured then other candidates selection would not affect our candidature(which was later as clear as could be). Then comes the D-Day . The office was around 6-7 Km apart. To remind you again at this point 23 applicants have given the interview out of which 10 were already selected . Now on the D-Day out of the remaining 28 ,26 were present . Now as one might guess what would be my slot no. Yes, you are absolutely right 26. Reached office at 10 , sat there for whole day got interview slot at 7:30PM . (Sorry for taking your important time) The main plot :Went in, the interviewer was chill af. Was asking me to refer him by his name ,got curious of my hometown and searched it on web. Asked me about my lunch etc. Then began interview by manually inspecting each keyword on my resume and then crossing it off . Some of my questions were . implementation of bubble sort,complexity . Swapping without temp or inbuilt function(2 methods) . Listing atleast 10 linux commands(my resume had linux) . rag pipeline . Vector Database . Query Optimization . Context window . No. of tuples in final table after self join . Rank vs Dense Rank . Sql query on 2nd highest salary At this point he was quite satisfied with my answers I would say I only fumbled in 1 or 2 questions rest were easy to me Then came a twist----- What is FMCG ? I was blank ,as a technical term is quite catchy that even if you would not have heard of it ,it would be in the back of your mind but that term was a 1st to me It stands for Fast moving consumer Goods. I was like OK but how it is connected . He gave examples of bread and dairy and so on Later on asked me about pipeline of how goods are pipelines through retailers and distributors, capital market vs modern market and what not . I was not able to understand if it was a technical interview or what . I can draw only one conclusion he was not interested. At the middle of the interview after answering almost all of the questions. Getting bombarded with random sales questions, I was broken . He visually looked tired and thanked me and went home after 10 minutes of my interview(I was waiting for my friend's HR interview). Was broken for the whole night woke up in the morning got shortlisted for the HR round (almost all of the candidates were). But I was not excited as I already prepared for rejection. Gave all in for the HR round only for it to last for 6 minutes (I am quite verse in English and speaking). Done from the drive at 7:30 played badminton and got tired and slept at 9:30. Got a call at 11:30 from one of my friend that one of the candidate who appeared for the drive has posted a story of his selection. Checked the group there were many names but ,as you would have guessed,not mine(looked around 15 times). Out of the 26 remaining candidates which gave their interviews in office a massive , humungous number of 5 people were selected . Note : Not trying to be overconfident or arrogant but most of the candidates selected were a lot, lot weaker than me in tech field but what's done is done . One cannot cry over spilled milk(I cried). So this was a roller coaster of my journey for the interview experience. Might be too long but needs to be vented out . That's all from my side. Signing off.
