My LinkedIn SWE Intern interview was a good mix of DSA, CS fundamentals, and discussion around my previous work. The process started with a HackerRank coding assessment, where I had to solve three DSA problems within 90 minutes. The questions were around medium difficulty, so speed mattered almost as much as getting the solutions right. After clearing the assessment, I had a technical interview. We started with a simple introduction, and then the interviewer moved directly into coding. The first problem was the classic **Best Time to Buy and Sell Stock**. I explained the brute-force approach first and then optimized it by maintaining the minimum price seen so far. The next question was about checking whether two strings were anagrams. Once I completed that, the interviewer added a follow-up: finding all anagrams of a pattern inside a given string. I used character-frequency counting and a sliding-window approach, and we discussed the time and space complexity in detail. A few SQL questions were also included in the discussion. Another reported LinkedIn interview involved finding the minimum distance between two words in an array and merging two sorted arrays of strings. A later round included level-order traversal of a binary tree with a special marker after every level, followed by generating all combinations of a number. The final manager discussion was much less algorithm-heavy. We talked about my projects, achievements, strengths, and why I wanted to join LinkedIn. I was also asked questions based directly on things mentioned in my resume. The interviewers were friendly throughout, but they expected me to explain my reasoning clearly and handle edge cases rather than just produce code. I completed the process successfully and received the offer for the SWE Intern position.
