The Wells Fargo interview was quite different from the typical DSA-only interviews I had prepared for. The interviewers spent a good amount of time trying to understand my projects and how well I knew the fundamentals behind them. I had already gone through the assessment round, so the interview started directly with a short introduction. The interviewer picked one of my projects from the resume and started asking questions around its architecture, database design, APIs, and the reasons behind choosing particular technologies. The questions kept getting deeper depending on my answers. For DSA, I was asked a linked-list problem where I had to find the next greater element for every node. I initially thought of comparing each node with all the nodes ahead of it, but the interviewer pushed me toward a better solution. I eventually used a stack-based approach and explained why it reduced the complexity. The discussion then shifted toward core CS. I was asked about processes and threads, concurrency vs parallelism, and multithreading. There were also DBMS questions around indexing, transactions, and normalization. One interesting part was a practical question about whether I would prioritize security or application performance if improving both simultaneously wasn't possible. Towards the end, there were a few behavioral questions about teamwork, handling disagreements, and situations where I had to learn something quickly. The interview felt more like a technical conversation than a rapid-fire question-answer session. The interviewer frequently asked follow-ups based on what I said, so knowing the reasoning behind my resume rather than just memorizing concepts was important. Overall, it was a well-rounded interview covering DSA, CS fundamentals, projects, and practical engineering decisions.
