Flipkart

I went through the Flipkart SDE Intern recruitment process on campus. The process was quite DSA-heavy, and each interview had a strong emphasis on how I arrived at the solution rather than just whether I could code it. The online test had three coding problems with a 90-minute time limit. One of the problems asked me to find the maximum value of `A[j] - A[i]` for `i < j`. Another was a dynamic programming problem involving selecting flowers from a string to maximize the total bouquet value. The third question was also algorithmic, so managing the time was important. After clearing the test, I had my first technical interview. The interviewer started with **Maximum of Minimum for Every Window Size K**. I initially explained a straightforward approach and then optimized it using a suitable data structure. The next problem was to design a data structure supporting `addElement()`, `deleteElement()`, and `getRandomElement()` in O(1) expected time. I explained how an array and hash map could work together. The final question was the classic **Candy Distribution** problem. The next technical round again focused on problem solving. We discussed trees and graph traversal, followed by questions about my projects and the choices I made while implementing them. The final discussion was more relaxed and included questions about OOP, DBMS, my projects, teamwork, and why I wanted to join Flipkart. Overall, the interviews were challenging but interactive. I was selected for the SDE Intern position after completing the process.
