I appeared for the Atlassian Software Engineer Intern hiring process through the IIT BHU campus drive. The first stage was an online assessment with three DSA problems to be solved in 90 minutes. The questions were around medium to hard difficulty, so time management was important. Similar Atlassian India internship experiences report three DSA questions in 90 minutes. After clearing the OA, I was shortlisted for the technical interview. The interview lasted around an hour and focused completely on problem solving. I was given one DSA problem and first had to understand and clarify the requirements before discussing my approach. I started with a basic solution and then optimized it. The interviewer kept adding follow-ups and changing constraints, so I had to continuously modify my approach. Atlassian internship interviews are commonly structured around one DSA problem with follow-ups rather than several unrelated questions. The final round was a managerial/values interview. Instead of technical questions, I was asked about my projects, teamwork, handling conflicts, failures and situations where I had taken ownership. The questions were closely connected to Atlassian's values, and I had to explain my experiences using specific examples. Similar Indian internship reports describe this round as heavily focused on behavioral and values-based questions. I felt reasonably confident after the interviews, especially with the technical round, but I ultimately received a rejection. The experience taught me that Atlassian's internship process evaluates more than DSA—communication, handling follow-ups, project depth and behavioral examples all matter.
