Goldman Sachs

I appeared for the Goldman Sachs Software Engineering Intern hiring process through my college campus. The first stage was an online assessment containing DSA, aptitude, CS fundamentals and a short essay/self-story question. The coding section had two to three problems depending on the drive, and the overall time pressure was significant. Recent Goldman Sachs campus experiences have reported a similar combination of coding, aptitude and technical questions. After clearing the OA, I had my first technical interview. The interviewer started with my introduction and then discussed my projects. I was asked a DSA problem involving dynamic programming, where I first explained the recursive idea and then optimized it. The interviewer asked me to write the solution, dry-run it on test cases and explain the time and space complexity. Similar Goldman Sachs interviews have included DP, graph and array-based problems. The second technical round was more challenging. I was given another problem-solving question and the interviewer changed the requirements during the discussion to test how I adapted my approach. We also discussed OOP, DBMS and some concepts directly related to my projects. In some Goldman Sachs internship interviews, candidates have also reported questions around authentication, JWT, system-design basics and project architecture. The final round was mainly HR and behavioral. We discussed why I wanted to join Goldman Sachs, my career goals, teamwork and experiences outside academics. Overall, the process was heavily focused on DSA but also tested projects, CS fundamentals and communication. I was able to perform well across the rounds, and after the final evaluation, I received confirmation that I had been **selected for the Goldman Sachs SWE Internship**.
