I appeared for the Microsoft Software Engineer Intern hiring process through my college campus recruitment. The process started with an online assessment containing two DSA problems. The questions were mainly around standard DSA concepts, and I had to manage the time carefully. Similar Microsoft campus experiences report two coding questions in roughly 60–90 minutes. After clearing the OA, I had my first technical interview. The interviewer started with my introduction and then moved directly to coding. I was given a DSA problem and first explained the brute-force approach before optimizing it. The interviewer asked several follow-ups around complexity and edge cases. I was able to reach the optimal solution and code it successfully. The next technical round included both DSA and core CS. I was asked questions about OOP concepts such as abstraction, interfaces, inheritance and polymorphism. We also discussed my projects in detail, including the technologies I used and some design decisions. Publicly reported Microsoft interviews similarly include OOP, project discussions and DSA in the technical rounds. The final round was a combination of technical and HR discussion. I was asked about my motivation for joining Microsoft, my future plans, teamwork, hobbies and experiences from college. I also had to explain some of the projects mentioned on my resume. Overall, the process tested DSA, communication, core CS fundamentals and project knowledge. I focused on explaining my reasoning clearly instead of immediately jumping into code. After completing the interviews, I received the confirmation that I had been **selected for the Microsoft SWE Internship** through campus recruitment.
