Eternal came to our campus for the SDE Intern hiring. The first stage was resume shortlisting, where they looked at things like projects, coding experience and academic profile. The next round was the coding assessment. It had 3 DSA problems with a mix of difficulty. The questions tested problem-solving rather than any company-specific knowledge. I was able to solve the easier ones but struggled to finish the harder problem within the time. I still managed to move ahead to the interview stage. The technical interviews started with my projects and resume. The interviewer went fairly deep into the projects I had mentioned and asked why I chose certain technologies and how different parts of the system worked. After that, we moved to DSA. I was asked to explain my approach first and then code it. There were follow-up questions around complexity and how the solution would behave with larger constraints. Another part of the discussion covered OOP, DBMS and basic CS fundamentals. The interviewer wasn't just looking for definitions and kept asking practical follow-ups. There were multiple interview rounds, and each one felt slightly different. I was comfortable with some of the DSA questions, but I couldn't handle a few follow-ups as well as I wanted. In the end, I didn't make the final shortlist for the internship. It was still a useful experience because the interviews were much more about actually understanding what I had built and how I approach problems than just memorizing answers.
