Result: Offer (Declined)

Difficulty: Easy to Medium

Rounds: Recruiter Talk, CodeSignal OA, Power Day (4 rounds)

Topics Asked: Object-Oriented Programming, Technical Case Study, Behavioral (STAR), System Design

Experience:

The candidate received an offer for a SWE1 position after a "fairly easy interview process" but ultimately declined it.

The process started with an initial recruiter talk covering the position, potential team, and compensation.

Next was a CodeSignal Online Assessment with 4 questions, where the candidate got 3/4 correct and moved to the final stage.

The Power Day consisted of four 1-hour rounds.

The first round was a Technical Case, which the candidate found unique and difficult to prepare for. It involved a real Capital One problem, explaining provided code, solving simple math, and implementing basic logic.

The second round, a Technical Interview, was described as "very easy." It involved designing a banking system (Simple Bank System) using OOP principles and classes, rather than a typical algorithm problem.

The third round was a Behavioral interview with 3 questions asked in STAR format, described as "easy and chill."

The fourth round was System Design, where the candidate was asked to "create a banking application and design the APIs/GUIs/Database for it." This was done through sketches and text, with no actual coding, and was considered quite easy for a SWE1 candidate.
