I participated in the Flipkart GRiD recruitment process through my college. The process had multiple stages, and I was able to make it till the third round. The initial stage was basically a profile-based shortlisting round, where candidates were shortlisted based on their application and profile. After getting through that stage, I moved to the technical evaluation. The second round had a pretty interesting combination of topics. I was asked two DSA questions, followed by a DataFrame-related question and an SQL question. The DSA problems required me to think about the approach first and then discuss the implementation and complexity. The DataFrame question was more practical and involved manipulating and working with tabular data. The SQL portion tested my understanding of queries and data retrieval. I managed to get through this round and reached the third round, which was the final stage I attended. The third round was considerably more demanding. This time, there were no SQL questions. The round mainly consisted of two DSA problems followed by a lengthy data-structure-based problem. The first two DSA questions were fairly standard in terms of their underlying concepts, although the interviewer asked several follow-ups around complexity and edge cases. I was able to work through them and explain my reasoning. The last problem was where things became difficult. It involved designing and implementing a custom data structure with CRUD-type operations. The problem was significantly longer than the previous questions. It wasn't something where I could simply identify a familiar pattern and immediately start coding. I had to think about how the data should be stored, how each operation would work, and how the operations could be made efficient. The problem kept getting more involved as I started implementing it. I was able to understand the requirements and build parts of the solution, but there were several operations that needed to work together correctly. Because of the length and complexity of the problem, I couldn't complete the entire implementation within the available time. After the third round, I was waiting for the next update. As far as the process was concerned, candidates who cleared this stage could potentially receive a PPI (Pre-Placement Interview) opportunity. I was hoping to get that chance after reaching the third round. However, I didn't receive a recruiter call for the PPI. So, despite making it through all three rounds, I wasn't selected for the next stage. The complete journey for me was: Profile Shortlisting → Round 2: 2 DSA + DataFrame + SQL → Round 3: 2 DSA + Long Custom Data Structure/CRUD Problem → No PPI Call The Flipkart GRiD process was probably one of the more varied technical processes I went through. It wasn't purely DSA because there were also practical DataFrame and SQL questions, while the final round tested whether I could reason about and implement a larger custom data structure from scratch. My biggest takeaway was from the final problem. I realized that solving individual DSA questions is quite different from implementing a larger problem where multiple operations and data structures have to work together. I understood the problem and managed to make progress, but I couldn't finish the complete CRUD implementation within the time limit. Ultimately, I didn't receive the PPI opportunity, but reaching the third round gave me a good idea of the level and variety of questions that can come up in Flipkart's recruitment process.
