Razorpay

I participated in the Razorpay AI Buildathon as a college student and submitted my project as part of the selection process. The process was quite different from a conventional internship recruitment drive because the primary focus was on building and submitting a working project rather than solving a traditional DSA-based online assessment. We were given the opportunity to build a project using AI and were evaluated based on the quality of the idea, creativity, implementation, and overall submission. I spent significant time working on the project, integrating the required technologies, testing the implementation, and preparing the final submission. The Buildathon was interesting because it gave me the freedom to decide how I wanted to approach the problem and what features I wanted to implement. After submitting the project, I was expecting the shortlist for the next stage. A few days later, I received an email from the Razorpay Campus Team thanking me for participating in the Razorpay AI Buildathon. They mentioned that they were encouraged by the quality, creativity, and effort put into the submissions, but after evaluating all the entries, they had decided not to take my application forward to the next round based on my Buildathon submission. They did not provide individual feedback because of the large number of applications, but they stated that all submissions were evaluated using the same assessment parameters and review process. There was no technical interview or DSA round after the Buildathon in my case, since I was not shortlisted based on the project submission itself. Although I was disappointed with the result, the Buildathon was still a valuable experience because it gave me an opportunity to build something under a competitive selection process and understand how product-based companies evaluate project submissions. Razorpay also mentioned that this was their first edition and encouraged participants to apply for future Buildathons and internship opportunities. Overall, it was a good learning experience and helped me understand the importance of presenting not just a functional project but also a strong idea, implementation, and overall submission.
