The interview started with the interviewer introducing himself. Then he asked me to introduce myself. I mentioned that I was a Codeforces Expert. He then asked, “What is Codeforces?” Then came some basic OOP questions- 4 pillars of OOP, Difference between encapsulation and polymorphism. After that, he asked about two projects on my resume. Both were math-based. He wasn’t familiar with the math behind them. I tried explaining, but he kept interrupting and didn’t really let me explain what I had done. Then there was a DSA question. Given an array, you can choose any subset of numbers. Square each number and take their sum. If the sum is a power of 2, you can remove that entire subset. You have to minimize the number of operations needed to clear the array. There was also a strange situational question. Suppose someone’s TV stops working. They don’t report it or raise any complaint. As a developer, how would you know that the TV has a hardware issue?
