Experience:

The interview process for a Software Engineer role at Bottomline Technologies, Bangalore, began in November 2021 through a third-party consultant. The first interview was scheduled for November 17th but eventually happened on November 20th. The second round was scheduled for November 25th, and finally, the HR offer letter was received on January 5th.

Round 1 (Technical - Approx. 50 minutes): This round was conducted by the candidate's current technical lead. Questions were primarily focused on Data Structures and .NET. Specific topics included Dynamic Programming, Array, Linked List, MVC, WCF, Web Services, APIs, Extensions, Delegates, and Threading.

Round 2 (Technical - Approx. 1 hour): This round was taken by a manager. It involved more Data Structures questions, specifically related to Arrays and Linked Lists. There were also .NET related questions. A significant portion of this round was dedicated to discussing the candidate's projects mentioned in the resume, their previous company work, and the model on which their projects operated. Scalability and how to handle a large volume of traffic in an API were also discussed.

Round 3 (HR Round): This round covered common HR questions. Key questions included why the candidate was leaving their current job, what they liked most about Bottomline Technologies, what they knew about the company, their ideal workplace, and salary expectations. Given the pandemic situation, questions about relocation to Bangalore (as the candidate was from Delhi) were also prominent, along with situational handling questions.

Overall Experience and Tips: The candidate emphasized the importance of using technical keywords during interviews to make a good impression. The role also offered an opportunity to work with Java alongside .NET.
