Difficulty: Hard

Rounds: 6 rounds

Topics Asked: Technical Finance and Accounting, Behavioral, Brain Teaser, Real Estate Industry Knowledge, Valuation (Cash-on-cash), Investment Strategy (Where to invest $100M), Market Impact of Current Events.

Experience:

The interview process was described as very extensive and difficult.

Round 1 (Online Assessment): This round started with a virtual HireVue and then a Pymetrics assessment. The Pymetrics assessment tested basic knowledge and wasn't considered necessary to study for.

Round 2 (Teams Interview): A 20-minute Teams interview was conducted with an Associate. Questions were fairly standard and included: "Why RE?", "Why BX?", "Why acquisitions?", "Cash-on-cash calculation", "Where would you invest $100M?", and "How current events are impacting the market?". The interviewer did not allow the use of a calculator, requiring mental math skills.

Round 3 (Superday - 4x 1-on-1 interviews): The candidate was invited to a Superday in New York, along with 8 other students (implied from Wharton). The Superday consisted of four back-to-back 1-on-1 interviews with directors and vice presidents of the group. These interviews were highly technical, with very few qualitative questions beyond the typical introductory ones. The experience was described as fairly cold and uncomfortable, but the candidate apparently handled it well, receiving an offer a few hours later.
