Experience:

Wells Fargo visited the college for an Intern Analyst role for Summer 2025. Eligibility required 6+ CGPA for CS/IT/ENTC branches. A total of 380 students were shortlisted for the Online Assessment Test.

Online Assessment (SHL Amcat)
The test had four parts:

  • Verbal Assessment (12 questions, 15 minutes): Moderate English comprehension and fill-in-the-blanks.
  • Business Interpretation (15 questions, 25 minutes): Based on various graphs and charts (candlestick, pie charts, etc.). Tips included analyzing charts carefully and revising basic formulas (Venn diagrams, profit/loss).
  • Coding (2 coding questions, 40 minutes): Questions based on arrays and string manipulation, with an easy to medium difficulty. Time management was crucial. The candidate passed 12/12 test cases for the first and 15/17 for the second.
  • One separate coding question (10 minutes): Logic and mathematics-based, requiring no specific data structure. The candidate passed 1/3 test cases.

Tip for Online Assessment: Cannot move back and forth between questions; time management is crucial. Out of 380 students, 27 were shortlisted for interviews.

Interview Round 1: Technical (1 hour)
The interviewer started by asking about extracurricular activities to make the candidate comfortable.

Coding Problems:

  • Search for an element in an unsorted and sorted matrix (using different approaches for both).
  • Sort an n x n matrix (row-wise and column-wise).

Projects were discussed in detail, including their future scope. The candidate answered 4-5 MySQL queries on all types of joins. Other topics included APIs and their integration, Java Servlets, Java Bean class, unit testing in software engineering, factors for RDBMS vs NoSQL, designing a database system for the DSA project, in-depth application-based NoSQL questions with follow-ups, system logs in DBMS and Java files, static classes and their uses, and garbage collection in Java. The interviewer asked if the candidate read tech articles and news, then requested mentions of 5 Indian startups and 3 technology-related news items. The candidate was also given the opportunity to ask questions.
