BlackRock visited the campus for a recruitment drive for SDE roles.

Round 1: Online Assessment

Conducted on the eLitmus platform, this round consisted of three sections:

  • Aptitude: 39 questions, 47 minutes.
  • Coding Skills: 10 questions, 20 minutes.
  • SQL Programming: 20 questions, 20 minutes.

The difficulty level of questions ranged from easy to medium.

Round 2: Technical Interview

Duration: 1 hour. The panel included a Vice President and an Associate.

  • Began with a brief introduction and deep dive into resume projects.
  • Binary Tree Traversals: Discussed different traversal techniques: PreOrder, InOrder, PostOrder.
  • Coding Problem: Task was to write code for the Right View of a Binary Tree.
  • SQL Joins: Scenario given was an employee table containing Employee Code, Name, and Manager's Code. Discussed the use of self-joins.
  • Keys in SQL: Discussion on the necessity of Foreign Keys, especially when Joins are available, and the additional features provided by Foreign Keys.

Round 3: Managerial Interview

Focus was on projects and personal contributions. The interview began with an introduction and a deep dive into the candidate's project experiences. Roles in PCON and WebTeam constituted about 70% of the conversation. The candidate noted that they were not asked "Why should we hire you?"

Outcome: Both interviews were held on the same day, and the selection result was received by the evening.
