Experience:

This candidate with 3.5 years of experience was recruited via phone call for an SDE2 position in Bengaluru in November 2024.

Round 1: Machine Coding Round

• A HackerRank problem based on OOPS concepts.
• Question: Design an order management system, including cart functionalities and calculating total cart value.
• Working code was expected, passing all 13/13 test cases. Interviewer was "chilled out" but expected thinking aloud.

Round 2: Low-Level Design (LLD)

• Focus on APIs, DB Schema, DTOs, and follow-up questions.
• Question: Parking Lot Design. The interviewer was strict about getting requirements done and not open to extensibility.
• Expected class structures, attributes, methods, API specs with request/response models, and DB schema with follow-up questions on foreign keys, sharding keys, and indexing. Also, verbally explain the flow of APIs.

Round 3: Hiring Manager Round

• 30-minute discussion with a senior manager.
• Questions about current projects and some basic behavioral questions.

HR Round:

• Discussed the offer. HR was strict about the joining date.

The candidate received an offer.
