BlackRock visited the college for an internship.
Round 1: Online Round
- Aptitude: Questions on time and work, number system, work and wages, ratios. Easy-medium level with time constraints.
- Attention to Detail: 10 questions in 5 minutes, requiring quick and accurate responses.
- Technical Aptitude: 35 questions on SQL and 10 questions on C and Data Structures (mainly trees and traversals), mostly finding output.
Out of 800 students, 104 were shortlisted for the technical round.
F2F 1: Technical Interview
The interviewer was a Director at BlackRock.
- Introductions.
- Detailed discussion about resume projects.
- Coding Problem: Optimized code of Fibonacci series and explanation from scratch.
- Questions related to projects:
- What is Internet of Things? (Related to a project)
- How do you find a particular word from a given sentence using R? Why prefer R over SQL query? (Related to a project)
- Questions about previous internships.
- Basic questions on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
- Coding Problem: How to find the maximum number from an array without comparing and sorting? (Answered using bit manipulations).
- Behavioral: "Why BlackRock?", "How will you manage to stay at Gurgaon?"
- Brief family questions.
After this, the candidate was asked to wait for 5-10 minutes before proceeding to the HR round.
F2F 2: HR Round
- Self-introduction.
- "Why would you like to join BlackRock?"
- "How will you manage to stay at Gurgaon as your parents are from Karnataka?"
- "How was your experience with the Technical Interview?"
- "How do you deal with stress and what are your strengths?"
