Experience:

This on-campus recruitment experience for Western Union, leading to a Trainee Associate role, involved an assessment exam, a technical interview, and an HR round.

Assessment Exam:
This exam covered OS, Networking, Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, DSA, DAA, English, and one coding question. The coding question for the candidate was an easy one based on Permutations. The result of this exam was announced after two hours.

Technical Interview:
The interview panel consisted of two interviewers. The candidate was asked a pen-paper coding question to find the second largest number in an array. The candidate initially explained a sorting method (Merge sort) and then provided an optimized solution using two variables to store the highest and second highest numbers, which impressed the interviewers. Questions also covered Web Servers, SQL (simple queries to joins and group by clauses), Stack, Queue, and Graph traversal (DFS, BFS - theoretical questions). OOPS concepts, specifically Inheritance, were also discussed. The interviewers primarily focused on Java but were fine with explanations in C++. Questions related to the candidate's resume and skills were also asked.

HR Round:
This round had one interviewer and started with the candidate's introduction. It was primarily behavioral, revolving around strengths and weaknesses.

Final Verdict: The candidate was selected.
