UBS visited the campus for a Software Engineer Summer Internship for the 2025 passing out batch.

Round 1: Online Coding Test
Conducted on HackerRank on November 28, 2023, this round had a duration of 75 minutes. It included 30-35 MCQ questions and 1 coding question, with difficulty ranging from easy to medium. MCQs covered Java, code snippets, OOP concepts, multi-threading, assertion, code debugging, and predicting output. Tips for this round included practicing easy/medium DSA questions on arrays, strings, searching, sorting, bit manipulation, linked lists, stacks, queues, and hashmaps.

Round 2: Technical Interview
Online interviews were held on December 1, 2023. The interviewer started with an introduction to help the candidate relax. Projects, especially web development with emphasis on the backend, were discussed in detail. The interviewer was impressed by the candidate's explanation sequence. Two coding questions were asked: "How to find a missing number in an array of natural numbers" and "Merge two sorted arrays into one single sorted array." Following this, questions on OOPs concepts (4 pillars, composition, inheritance) and DBMS (types of languages, locks, truncate, delete, a query using `distinct` keyword) were posed. A second interviewer then asked HR-related questions, including "What do you know about UBS?", "Significance of 3 keys in the UBS logo", "What does the company do?", "Why do you want to join UBS?", "How to handle team disputes?", and "Work from home vs daily office and why?". Questions on time and team management were also asked. The candidate's answers to behavioral questions were well-received.

Tips: Dress formally, be authentic and confident, infuse uniqueness into answers, maintain positive non-verbal communication, and showcase a positive attitude.
