Experience:

The campus hiring process included 4 rounds, starting with a pre-placement talk on July 14, 2020. The online test was on August 1, 2020, followed by subsequent rounds on August 2, 4, and 5, 2020.

Round 1 (MCQ's and Coding): This round lasted 1 hour 30 minutes and was divided into two segments.

  • Part 1: 14 MCQs on concepts of C, C++, and Java.
  • Part 2: 3 Coding questions:
    • Given N integers (N>0), all elements are repeated one or more times except one unique element. Identify and print the unique element.
    • Sort odd and even numbers in an array separately. Specifically, sort even numbers in descending order and place them at even-numbered indices, and sort odd numbers in ascending order and place them at odd-numbered indices. Input example: 6 elements - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Output: 1, 6, 3, 4, 5, 2.
    • Determine if an array is "good" or "bad" based on criteria: all elements are unique, the array is not sorted in ascending order, and all elements are between 1 and N inclusive.

Round 2 (2 Coding questions - 60 mins): This round involved two coding problems:

  • Print the matrix in the Anti-Spiral direction.
  • Binary tree spiral traversal.

Round 3 (Technical Interview): This round focused heavily on networking basics, along with programming questions on linked lists, string manipulation, and palindromes. Concepts of C, such as inheritance, constructors, pointers, and polymorphism, were also covered. Discussion on projects mentioned in the resume was a significant part of this round. Each technical interview lasted for 1 hour.

Round 4 (HR interview): Only one student out of eight was selected for the HR round and received an offer. The candidate who provided this experience did not make it to the HR interview.
