Experience:

This candidate was placed at TESCRA for the position of Software Development Engineer in Bangalore through an on-campus placement drive at one of the newer IITs. The interview process consisted of two rounds: one Technical and one HR.

Technical Round:

The technical interview primarily focused on the projects mentioned in the candidate's CV. The interviewer delved into the projects in depth to assess the candidate's involvement and understanding. Basic questions related to topics listed in the CV were also asked; for instance, if a project on Cloud Computing was mentioned, fundamental concepts of Cloud Computing were discussed. The candidate emphasized the importance of only including topics in the CV that one can confidently discuss and defend.

Some general knowledge questions were also posed, including:

  • What were you doing since 2012 (graduated in 2012)?
  • Difference between GRP and RPF.
  • Water table vs. water level.
  • When we have e-commerce, why do we need retail chains?

  • Are LED TVs completely made up of LEDs and LCD TVs completely made up of LCDs?
HR Round:

The HR round involved basic questions aimed at evaluating the candidate's personality and attitude to determine if they were a good fit for the company. Questions about future goals were also asked, with a suggestion not to mention interest in higher studies. The overall selection was based on performance in a test (not detailed in this experience), the technical interview, and the HR round. The advice given was to be frank, bold, and demonstrate a positive attitude.

The candidate noted their calmness, pleasant demeanor, honesty (saying sorry when necessary), and taking pauses before replying as positive aspects of their approach.
