Experience:

This candidate shared their off-campus interview experience for an Associate Software Engineer role. The total process involved five rounds, with the first three conducted virtually and the last two (Technical and HR) in the Tech Mahindra office in Bangalore.

Round 1: Aptitude + Essay Writing
The aptitude section had medium-level questions, focusing on logical and quantitative aptitude, with no verbal ability questions this time. The essay writing required writing 400 words (previously 250 words).

Round 2: Technical MCQ and Coding Questions
The technical MCQ part consisted of theory questions from core CS subjects like DBMS, OS, OOPs, and Computer Networks. The coding section had two questions: one was easy/medium level (a string question), and the second was a little more complex (medium to hard level, possibly array-related but the exact topic was forgotten by the interviewee).

Round 3: Conversational Round
This was an important elimination round with seven sections, primarily checking English fluency.

Round 4: Technical Interview [~20 minutes]
The technical round heavily depended on the resume. The interviewer asked about two internships the candidate had done during B.Tech. If no internship experience, questions would focus on B.Tech projects. Specific technical questions included:

• Two SQL queries.
• One DSA code.

Behavioral questions were also asked, such as explaining leadership qualities and differentiating between a leader and a manager, based on skills mentioned in the resume.

Round 5: HR Interview
