The candidate, Sachin Kumar, from Satyama Institute of Science Chennai, shared his on-campus interview experience for a Software Engineer Trainee role with a package of 6.93 LPA.

Round 1: Online Assessment (Aptitude & Coding)

This round was held in the first week of March and was a 2-hour exam. It comprised three to four sections: Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, Verbal ability, and a Programming section with two coding questions. The coding questions required successful compilation and passing test cases. One coding question was reported as hard, and the other as easy. Even solving one question could lead to selection, but overall performance in aptitude was also considered.

Round 2: Technical Interview

After being shortlisted from the online assessment, the technical interview took place. It started with a basic introduction. The interviewer then asked "what do you know," allowing the candidate to steer the conversation. The candidate mentioned not knowing Operating Systems or Networking when asked, and the interviewer seemed to be checking for genuine answers. Project discussions were also a significant part of this round. The duration was around 40-45 minutes and it was a virtual interview.

Round 3: HR Interview

The HR round followed the technical interview, often on the next day. This round involved standard HR questions like self-introduction and discussions about salary expectations and the company's 2-year bond policy.
