Experience:

TIAA GBS organized a hackathon for college students, and the winning team members were offered internship interviews. This candidate was part of the winning team and successfully navigated the interview process.

Phase 1: Hackathon
TIAA GBS approached the candidate's college for a Hackathon held on May 4th. Teams of 7 were formed from each branch. Problem statements were released on April 28th, and teams had to choose 2 out of 3. The tech stack emphasized was C++, Java, and Python. The candidate's team chose Django for the backend and HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap for the frontend. They built a partial application before the hackathon day and implemented suggested tweaks within 4 hours. After presenting to judges, their team won the hackathon among 16 teams from Mumbai colleges, securing a chance for an internship interview.

Phase 2: Technical Round (35 mins)
This round started with "Tell me about yourself." The interviewer then reviewed the candidate's resume and asked questions about their projects, specifically inquiring about the libraries used for a Python project. Following the project discussion, questions shifted to SQL and Java-based concepts. The candidate answered many questions correctly, and 4 members from their team were selected for further rounds.

Phase 3: Interview Round (Details not fully specified as a separate round, but part of the overall process)
In this phase, the interviewer asked questions based on the candidate's education, subjects in their current semester, known tech stacks, and other general inquiries. The candidate noted being nervous as it was their first interview experience.
