Experience:

A recruiter from Naukri.com reached out to the candidate regarding an SDE2 (G26 Level) position at Texas Instruments in Bangalore. The candidate had 2.9 years of experience. The complete process took around 2 weeks.

Round 1: Technical Interview (F2F)

The interviewer asked about the candidate's current work and projects for about 10 minutes. Then, the technical questions began. This round went on for about 2 hours, with deep discussions and many follow-up questions for each query. The round primarily focused on C language knowledge.

  • What is the Endianness of a machine?
  • What is the Volatile keyword in C?
  • What is the Static keyword in C?
  • Difference between `const char* p`, `char* const p`, `const char* const p`.
  • Memory layout of a C program.
  • Harvard vs Von Neumann architecture.
  • What is a Race condition?
  • Mutex vs Semaphore.
  • Critical section.
  • Inter-process communication.

The interviewer seemed satisfied, and the candidate was able to answer most questions, except for the Harvard CPU architecture. A day later, HR called to inform that the feedback for Round 1 was positive and they would be moving to Round 2. Due to the very positive feedback, one round was skipped, making Round 2 the final one.

Round 2: Technical Interview (F2F)

The interviewer asked for a brief introduction and then directly moved to questions. This round was mainly focused on C concepts, with deep discussions following each question.

2-3 hours after this interview, HR called to offer the SDE 2 position, with the offer letter received two days later.
