Experience:

The recruitment process for a Digital Design Engineer mainly consisted of two-three rounds: an Online Recruitment Test followed by 1-2 interview rounds. Both the assessment and interviews were held virtually.

Round 1: Online Assessment (on HirePro)

This round had 3 sections and a total duration of 2 hours and 15 minutes, with negative marking (+1, -0.25).

  • Section 1: Analog Engineer Test (20 questions, 45 minutes): Questions on RLC circuits, network theorems, circuit theory, and control systems.
  • Section 2: Digital Design Engineer Test (20 questions, 45 minutes): Questions on ANSI-C, BCDs, Latches, microprocessors, flip-flops, binary conversion, 8085 programming, slacks, and logical circuits.
  • Section 3: Cognitive Test (30 questions, 45 minutes):
    • First 10 questions: English (jumbled sentences, fill-in-blanks, comprehension, synonyms, antonyms).
    • Next 10 questions: Quantitative Aptitude (time and work, linear equations, time and distance, functions).
    • Remaining questions: Logical Reasoning.

After this round, 53 students were selected for analog and 18 for digital interviews. The candidate was selected for a digital interview. Some people were called for HR after this round.

Round 2: Technical Interview

The interviewer asked about the candidate's business analyst internship. They also inquired about the candidate's interest in digital and analog, stating that the role selection would be based on performance.

  • A logic circuit with approximately 7 XOR gates was shown, and the candidate was asked to find and explain the output.
  • Asked to open Paint and draw/explain CMOS, PMOS, and NMOS separately, marking their input and output.
  • What is breakdown voltage?

Finally, 13 students were selected for analog engineering, and none for digital engineering. The candidate was rejected after the interview.
