Barclays visited the college in the second week of October 2022 for the Software Intern (Summer Internship) position.

Round 1: The Online Test

The online test was two hours, with 45 minutes allocated for the actual test, conducted on HackerEarth. It comprised two parts: 30 MCQs covering Python, C++, Java, SQL, MongoDB, Database Queries, OOP, Computer Networks, and Security. The second part had 2 coding questions of easy to medium difficulty, focusing on string manipulation and an array-based problem. Some candidates received questions on Graphs and Dynamic Programming. 80 students from the college were shortlisted for the next round.

Round 2: The Interview Round

The interview was conducted online via Microsoft Teams on October 19, 2022, and lasted approximately 30 minutes. The interviewer was typically an experienced Vice President (VP) from the company. The interview started with a brief self-introduction. Questions included explaining various data types with examples, discussing different data structures and their applications, and elaborating on the pillars of OOP with examples. The interviewer also asked about preferred programming languages and then requested the candidate to code on a notepad. A behavioral question about sharing an opinion on a matter was also asked. The candidate was offered the chance to ask questions at the end. The result was announced after about a week, and the candidate was selected.

Tips: Practice DSA on platforms like GeeksforGeeks and LeetCode. Build a strong foundation in CS fundamentals (OOP, DSA, DBMS, CNS, OS). Be thoroughly prepared to discuss your resume and projects. Research the company and its values (like RISES). Maintain patience and confidence.
