Experience:

Texas Instruments visited the campus to hire final year students (2023 Batch) from Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, Electronics and Instruments, and Power engineering branches. The entire process, including the online assessment and interviews, was held virtually.

Round 1 (Online Assessment on HirePro):

This round was 2 hours and 15 minutes long and had negative marking (+1 for correct, -0.25 for incorrect). It comprised three sections:

  • **Analog Engineer Test (45 minutes, 20 questions):** Questions focused on RLC circuits, network theorems, circuit theory, and control systems.
  • **Digital Design Engineer Test (45 minutes, 20 questions):** Questions covered ANSI-C, BCDs, Latches, microprocessors, flip-flops, binary conversion, 8085 programming, slacks, and logical circuits.
  • **Cognitive Test (45 minutes, 30 questions):** This section included English (jumbled sentences, fill-in-blanks, comprehension, synonyms, antonyms), Data Interpretation & Reasoning (pattern recognition, series, situation-based, paragraph-based), and Quantitative Aptitude (time and work, linear equations, time and distance, functions).

After this round, 53 students were selected for analog interviews, and 18 for digital interviews. The candidate was selected for a digital interview.

Round 2 (Technical Interview):

The interview lasted about 45-50 minutes. The questions asked were:

  • Introduction.
  • Detailed discussion about projects mentioned in the resume.
  • Questions on digital electronics, including flip-flops, latches, combinational and sequential circuits, setup and hold time, clock gating, and power analysis.
  • Questions on Verilog, including different types of always blocks and their use cases.
  • FSM design from scratch for a specific problem.
  • General questions like "Why Digital?" and "Why Texas Instruments?".

Some candidates were called for an HR round after this. Ultimately, 13 students were selected for analog engineering, but none for digital engineering. The candidate was rejected after this interview.
