Experience:

SLB conducted an SDE-1 Intern hiring process where 1500 students applied, and 200 were shortlisted based on CGPA and resume for the online assessment.

Online Assessment (Offline): This round had 20 questions on OOPS and DSA in Java, divided into two 10-minute sections for each set of 10 questions. Additionally, there were 2 basic level coding questions with a 60-minute time limit, though the candidate solved them in 10-12 minutes. The candidate found the Java portion challenging as they learned DSA in C++. 48 candidates were shortlisted for the next round.

Group Discussion Round: A batch of 12 students was divided into two teams of 6. A topic was given, and for half the time, participants spoke in favor, and for the other half, against the topic. The candidate felt confident after this round and was among the 12 shortlisted for the first technical round.

First Technical Round: This round lasted 30-40 minutes. The interviewer asked resume-based questions, including projects. The candidate was then asked two coding questions: one on linked lists (not specified which problem) and one on arrays (not specified which problem). The candidate felt they delivered well, giving real-life examples and detailed descriptions, and the interviewer seemed impressed. However, the candidate was rejected after this round, noting that other students were asked DSA/core concepts, but their interview revolved around these specific linked list and array questions. Out of 6 candidates, 4 were shortlisted for the final HR round, but the author was not among them.
