Experience:

This candidate received an offer for an SDE 2 position in Bangalore, India, in March 2022. The interview process involved an Online Assessment followed by three interview rounds.

Online Assessment:

  • Two easy-level coding questions.
  • The language of the problems was a bit tricky and lengthy, requiring careful reading. Both questions could be solved within one hour.
  • A HackerEarth link was provided for this assessment before the HR round.

Round 1: DSA Problems

  • This round was entirely based on Data Structures and Algorithms problems.
  • Discussions progressed from brute force solutions to optimal solutions.

Round 2: Low-Level Design

  • Two questions were asked in this round.
  • One specific design question mentioned: "Design locker service where a delivery guy can put a parcel in a locker, and OTP and locker details will be sent out to the customer. The customer can go to the nearest locker and can receive the parcel by validating OTP as a password."

Round 3: Hiring Manager

  • This round was divided into two sections:
    • First 30 minutes: High-Level Design.
      • Design a distributed web crawler.
      • Discussion on which data structure to use to store seed URLs.
      • Techniques to use for crawling web pages.
      • Discussion on performance improvement and parsing of web page content.
    • Last 30 minutes: Technical discussion and culture fit.
      • Questions on Monolithic vs Microservices, Open API documentations, Agile vs Scrum, basic questions on JIRA.
      • Behavioral questions like "Reason for change" and "expectation from SIXT."

Round 4: HR

  • Consisted of a normal conversation about the candidate, job descriptions, and compensation breakup.
